چکیده

Introduction: Meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) is an illness that linked with significant respiratory morbidity among neonates born through meconium-stained amniotic fluid (MSAF). MAS, the most common cause of serious sickness and death in newborns, occurs around 5% to 10% births. 6–25% all babies have (MSAF), approximately 11% will MAS. This case-control study examines outcomes factors associated MAS MSAF. Methods: single-center was performed Kalkaal Hospital from December 15, 2020 2021. The hospital review board examined approved research protocol. During this period 430 were admitted Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Hospital. Among 430, 63 had included as case group study. without or meconium selected purposively for In both groups a record made on information about fetal distress, gestational age baby delivery mode. Additionally, complications like prolonged duration labor, obstructed presence premature rupture membrane (PROM), maternal recorded. Results: 50.8% males, while 49.2% females. 61 still alive, two expired control alive. variables showed effect include distress(p<0.000), greater than 42 weeks (p = 0.01), labor 0.023). results indicates 66.7% (n=42) patients distress odds ratio 19, above 31.7% 3.19 27% (n=17) 2.96. Conclusion: found out weeks, contribute significantly aspiration. Identification screening these risk may assist care aspiration, therefore minimizing MAS-related complications, morbidity, death.

CLINICAL ASPECTS OF EARLY EMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS)

Although the pathway for fetal defecation exists, this does not usually occur. In most cases the first defecation occurs postnatally; the bile-stained fecal matter is called meconium. In 10 15% of all deliveries, the neonate's amniotic fluid is meconium-stained, indicating some amount of in utero defecation. Even though about one-third of such neonates will have some meconium in their lungs, on...

Meconium aspiration syndrome in neonates

Perhaps the most significant changes in airway management over the recent years have been in the management of an infant delivered through meconium- stained amniotic fluid( MSAF). MSAF occurs in approximately 10℅ to 20℅ of all deliveries and increases to over 30℅ in deliveries after 42 weeks gestation. Meconium aspiration syndrome ( MAS) occurs in about 2℅ to 5℅ of these cases with a high morta...
